Table Practice

We engage our mission statement in the following practices:

Nurturing wholeness

  • inviting vulnerable sharing in worship and community
  • inclusive worship
  • naming each others’ gifts, calling out and equipping each other for participation in God’s mission in the world
  • creating accountability in your faith journey in an authentic and safe environment

Practicing hospitality

  • breaking bread in communion weekly
  • sharing lunch together on Sunday and occasionally during the week
  • welcoming people at different places in their faith journey
  • welcoming those of various denominational backgrounds
  • local and international giving and service projects
  • emphasis on locally grown food

Creative participatory worship

  • emphasis on mentoring new leaders
  • intergenerational worship
  • community discussion and reflection of the biblical text
  • worship that includes celebration, story-telling, prayer, silence, and scriptural discernment
  • music rooted in the Mennonite hymnody, including world music and original compositions

Engaging the Biblical narrative

  • using the lectionary texts
  • creative biblical storytelling through drama and interpretive readings
  • communal teaching and exegesis
